Thank you for sharing you story. It sounded much like mine. Drinking and one night stands or just drinking. Then one night in Felicianos on Newport peninsula I met a bartender named Jimmy Christmas. I made fun of his name and he seriously told me he'd changed his last name because it was Christmas when he had accepted Jesus. I had been to church over the years but still I was empty. My husband was killed in Vietnam. I was just 19 with a 26 day old baby girl. Restless and grieving and now Jimmy was telling me i wouldn't find what i was looking for there. He invited me to meet his van pickup at south coast plaza the next morning and I was curious about the passion he had, so I went. He took the group of us to a small chapel in Costa Mesa called Calvary Chapel. There I met Chuck Smith, Lonny Frisbie and Chuck Girard. Wow. Big change from Presbyterian or Methodist. I went forward during Debby Kerners song, "For those tears I Died". They then offered prayer to receive the Holy Spirit. I didnt even know there was one but I went to another room and received prayer. They were clear that Jesus alone is the baptiser and that I was not to seek a manifestation but Jesus Himself. Like you I felt the weight of the world lift off and felt like I was flying without wings so very free. That was 50 years ago July 2nd this year. I never looked back and can honestly say I love Him more everyday!

Joe, I read your story and saw several parallels to my own "spots". It is truly an amazing time to be a child of God today and a witness to the Awakening. We will face some dark days ahead and I look forward to more of your writings, more bright spots. God is on the move! 🙏💯❤️
